What are Ringback Tones?

Tired of the old school sound your friends hear when calling you?
Does your mobile phone have the same dull ring as your grandmother?

If you said yes to the questions above you and need ringback tones. A ringback tone, not to be confused with a ring tone, is a song you choose for your callers to listen to while they wait for you to answer the phone—a ringtone is the sound heard by you in place of a ring.

With many ringback tone plans, you can choose up to 100 ringback tones at a time and can assign specific songs for each of your callers. You can even select certain songs to be played based on the day of the week or the time of day. Many ringback tone providers offer a feature known as Jukebox. A jukebox allows the caller to hear a variety of songs, played randomly, whenever they call.

Ringback tones can be purchased through internet ads, your cell phone provider, or companies like FunMobile. They have an offer stating that if you you join now you'll get the hottest ringtones on us. You can choose from hundreds of different ringtones.

There are thousands of songs and numerous artists and genre’s to choose from. You can select songs by country music stars, rap/hip hop, rock, R&B, Oldies, the Blues, TV/Movie themes and many others.  There are as many ringback tone plans as there are cell phone providers, so be sure you are aware of the cost and number of ringback tones your plan allows.
