Virgin Mobil, partners with Live Wire Mobile, began offering ringback tones in December or 2007. In a recent report Verizon announced that they have sold over 400,000 ringback tones. Their most popular ringback tones are songs from the hip-hop and R&B categories with tracks being “Heaven Sent”, Crank That-Tell ‘Em”, “Apologize” and “Bed”.

Virgin Mobile’s content director, Wes Radez, pointed out that since people are looking for ways to personalize their cell phones, ringback tones are a great way to do so, and the ringback tones are easy to use. Virgin Mobile has over 10,000 songs to chose from, they can be used with all the Virgin Mobile phones and you are able to set different tones for each of you callers.
